The Muffaletta was created in 1906 in New Orleans by Italian immigrants. It was originally made with a Sicilian style loaf of bread or focaccia that was stuffed with meats, cheese, and an olive salad.
Over the years there have been several variations all over the country, each adding its own twist based on location. Our version is pretty simple as we tried to stay original. We bake our own focaccia bread
in-house which we feel truly makes the difference between a good Muffaletta and a GREAT one.
